Story about the Design: A poetic inventory of “inseparable” companions, the composition assembles historic utilitarian objects from the Émile Hermès collection—among them a wooden boot puller, a lighter for card players, a folding travel spoon, a watercolor whisk, and a comb with mother-of-pearl details—redrawn by Florence Manlik with fine, precise linework. The airy layout lets each object “take flight” across the silk, making the Blanc/Or/Violet colorway especially crisp when knotted. Artist's Story: Paris-based illustrator and graphic artist Florence Manlik has collaborated with Hermès since 2009 across women’s silk, leather goods and home. Her carrés often mine the Maison’s iconographic archives—especially the Émile Hermès collection—translating metalwork, equestrian fittings and historic curios into elegant graphic languages (see her Inventaire Poétique pieces). Other noted designs include Robe du Soir and Coup de Fouet au Bloc, demonstrating her signature balance of delicate drafting and bold structure.
Collector's Notes: Community tracking placed Nous Sommes Inséparables (design code 004149S) in the Fall/Winter 2024 scarf lineup, with CW04 corresponding to the Blanc family; collectors discussed the palette options (including purples and greys) and noted the softer, refined look. The Blanc/Gold/Violet ground shows Manlik’s line drawing particularly clearly in bias folds.
