Story about the Design: An intimate travel vignette, Bagage à Main depicts two open suitcases brimming with the objects that map a life in motion—books of poetry, paintbrushes, shoes, souvenirs and keepsakes. The artist channels her own journeys “from Venezuela to France via Mexico,” opening her luggage to reveal treasured essentials and memories. In this Vert Amande and Jaune Vif palette, soft almond green grounds the scene while the bright yellow border and sky-blue accents add lift and luminosity. The composition feels like a personal inventory: charming, modern and highly wearable, with plenty of clear corners for versatile tying while still showcasing the central suitcases.
Artist's Story: Rosa Maria Unda Souki is a Venezuelan-Brazilian painter and writer (born Caracas, 1977) who divides her time between Paris and Brazil. Trained at the Armando Reverón Institute in Caracas and later completing postgraduate study in Brazil, her work explores memory, the home and the narratives we carry from place to place. She has undertaken international residencies, exhibited widely, and presented “Commencements” with the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès, a project that, like this scarf, examines space, memory and personal history.
