Story about the Design:
A tiger’s face anchors the centre of this imagined carousel, surrounded by circular processions of animals and birds. Zebras, giraffes, spotted cats and other creatures turn across a sky-blue ground, while geometric bands and red accents give the composition a lively rhythm. Animals appear beyond the circular frame at the corners, extending the scene across the square. Katie Scott’s detailed drawing balances playful movement with a carefully ordered structure, offering new small discoveries as the scarf is folded and tied.
Artist's Story:
Katie Scott is a British illustrator based in London, known for bringing the natural world into richly detailed images. Her practice combines hand-drawn linework with digital watercolour and draws on botanical anatomy. She has worked with botanists on illustrated reference books and created botanical designs for Hermès scarves and textiles. Here, her precise drawing gives an imaginative animal parade its character.
