Story about the Design: Hermès reimagines Julie Abadie’s 1976 “Coaching” by subtly shifting the main lines and soft-blurring the harness buckles, rings and braids to create a layered, mosaic-like effect—hence the “Déjà-Vu” name. Jérôme Puigros-Puigener’s reinterpretation keeps the equestrian spirit intact while modernising the composition for the 140 cashmere-silk format.
Artist's Story: Jérôme Puigros-Puigener is a French illustrator and bandes dessinées (comics) author who has published graphic works and exhibitions since the 2000s; for Hermès he signs the “Coaching Déjà-Vu” carré as a tribute “after Julie Abadie.” Julie Abadie is a noted Hermès scarf designer whose oeuvre spans the 1970s–2010s; her original “Coaching” (1976) is among the maison’s classic equestrian themes and reflects Hermès’ harness-making heritage.
