Story about the Design: Chorus Stellarum imagines a celestial equestrian celebration: gods and goddesses usher in the rebirth of the universe while stars move through constellations of horse tack and riding emblems. Conceived like a domed fresco, the composition builds a new zodiac from symbols and treasures in the Émile Hermès collection, giving the design a gothic, mythological and fantastical atmosphere.
Artist's Story: Daiske Nomura is a Japanese designer and illustrator born in Tokyo who spent his childhood between Japan and Europe. He studied oil painting, then attended Parsons School of Design in New York and later worked in a textile studio. After returning to Japan in 2006, he began working as a freelance designer. Hermès notes that he received the Special Award for Design Innovation at Les cravates par Hermès in 2009 and has collaborated with the Maison ever since through both hand-drawn and digital art. In a later Hermès interview, he also explained that manga and anime imagery became an important part of his visual language, helping define the distinctly Daiske-like side of his work.
