Story about the Design: Brandebourgs Points is a dotted reinterpretation of Caty Latham’s classic Brandebourgs design. Hermès describes the Points version as an iconic design recreated in dotted lines to give the shawl a plain or semi-plain look. The original Brandebourgs design was inspired by an album from the Émile Hermès collection devoted to 19th-century uniforms, with elaborate embroidery, braidwork, and ceremonial trimmings. In this version, the military-inspired frogging and jacket details become refined dotted lines, creating a graphic, elegant, and very wearable cashmere-silk shawl.
Artist's Story: Caty Latham, also referred to as Cathy Latham-Audibert, is one of the most prolific Hermès scarf artists.
