Story about the Design: A radiating constellation of forty-seven antique keys encircles a central 18th-century velvet-and-silver purse—an object inspired by the Émile Hermès collection. The cords and tassels echo the arabesques of the keys, referencing the age when ladies carried household keys at the waist. On this Rose Vif/Fuchsia ground, the silver-grey keys and rope work pop vividly, making this among the most striking modern colorways.
Artist's Story: Caty Latham (also known as Cathy Latham-Audibert) collaborated with Hermès for over four decades. “Les Clefs” was one of her earliest runaway successes and is frequently cited among Hermès’ top-selling scarf designs. Early issues of her first two designs—Les Clefs and Vendanges—were unsigned; later she signed “.Caty.” and then “Latham.” Other notable Latham carriés include Frontaux et Cocardes, Mexique, Copeaux and Bolduc au Carré.
