Story about the Design: “Tout en Carré” is a witty homage to Hermès heritage: a horse, carriage and groom are outlined as silhouettes and “filled” with a collage of classic house motifs, from bridles to harness rings—an equestrian tableau framed by ribbon corners. The Noir/Ivoire colorway sharpens the graphic contrast, letting the internal collage stand out crisply against a dark ground.
Artist's Story: Bali Barret helmed Hermès women’s silk from the early 2000s and became artistic director of the women’s universe in 2009, modernising formats and championing bold, graphic storytelling in carré design before departing the house in 2020.
