Story about the Design: Robe Légère transforms the silhouette of a rearing horse into an airy composition of flowers and foliage. The botanical forms define the animal’s body while loose petals and leaves extend into the surrounding space, creating a sense of motion and release. The French title plays on the idea of a light dress or coat, connecting the horse’s floral covering with the fluid character of the silk. Artist's Story: Paris-born artist Théo de Gueltzl works across drawing, photography and sculpture. After graduating in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins in 2014, he developed a continuing relationship with Hermès, contributing detailed illustrations for the house’s textiles. His imagery combines careful observation of natural forms with a dreamlike sense of space, qualities that give Robe Légère its balance of botanical detail and equestrian movement.
