Story about the Design:
Five forest regions meet in a drawing of trees, animals and the life beneath the soil. Hallé brings together flora and fauna associated with America, Africa, Asia, Europe and Melanesia, showing roots and towering canopies in the same view. In this colourway, an almond-green border frames a natural ground, with red branches, deep-green foliage and small blue birds providing lively accents. Open spaces preserve the clarity of the fine botanical lines.
Artist's Story:
Francis Hallé (1938–2025) was a French botanist whose research explored tropical forests and the architecture of trees. He taught botany at the University of Montpellier and directed scientific canopy research with the Radeau des Cimes expeditions. His botanical drawings formed part of a lifelong engagement with plants. This Hermès design brings his close observation of forest life to the shawl.
