Anamorphée is a Paris-based creative studio that has collaborated extensively with Hermès across men’s silk, ready-to-wear graphics, and fashion jewelry. Known for crisp, optical motifs and architectural rhythm, the studio’s work translates effortlessly to woven jacquards and printed enamel, emphasizing clarity of line and modern color blocking within Hermès’ heritage vocabulary.
Story about the Design:
“Chaîne d’Ancre” (anchor chain) is one of Hermès’ most emblematic motifs, inspired by nautical moorings and first interpreted for the house by Robert Dumas in 1938. The “Optique” treatment reimagines those interlocking links as a graphic, optical pattern—alternating solids and voids to create depth and movement on the curved surface of an enamel bangle. The result is a contemporary take on a classic code that also appears across Hermès silks and knit jacquards.
Collector's Notes:
PVD rims offer a subtle, near-black frame that complements saturated palettes like Purple Wine.
Craftsmanship Note:
Hermès printed enamel bangles begin with a precision-rolled metal base (commonly brass) that is shaped, cleaned, and coated with vitreous enamel layers. Colors are fired sequentially at high temperature to fuse to the base, then hand-polished to a glassy sheen. The rims are finished separately—in this case with a PVD (physical vapor deposition) treatment that deposits a hard, near-black finish known for uniform tone and good abrasion resistance. Final assembly includes interior enameling, hallmarking, and a meticulous polish so rim joins sit flush and the bracelet glides smoothly on the wrist.
