Artist's Story:
Virginie Jamin is a French illustrator and longtime Hermès collaborator whose work spans scarves and tableware. Architectural Digest reported in 2024 that she had designed 30 scarves for the house; her archive-led practice studies saddlery, braids, cords and straps, transforming their functional geometry into rhythmic hand-drawn compositions that balance tradition and modernity.

Story about the Design:
Colliers de Chiens arranges stylized dog collars and their studs, plaques, medallions and buckles into a crisp repeating composition. The motif draws on a dog-collar display in the Émile Hermès collection, and ScarfSage records Virginie Jamin’s original scarf edition in 2013; Hermès also documents the motif on printed-enamel bangles.

Collector's Notes:
The 20 mm profile gives this rigid size-65 bangle substantial graphic presence, while the black, grey and yellow palette is set off by the gold-plated rim. Because no surrounding shape was reported around Q and Q is not a post-2015 no-shape code, the date is stated as circa 2013 (inferred), aligned with the motif’s documented 2013 debut rather than presented as a definitive hallmark reading; close hallmark photographs remain important.

Craftsmanship Note:
This rigid bangle combines printed enamel on metal with a gold-plated rim. Hermès describes enamel as a delicate material composed of glass, quartz, clay and slate; protect it from shocks, scratches, liquids and heat, store it dry and restore lustre gently with a soft cloth.
