Artist's Story:
Françoise Façonnet created a group of intricately drawn Hermès silk designs that includes Astrologie, Cérès, Courbettes et Cabrioles and Orgauphone et autres mécaniques. Astrologie was first issued in 1963 and became one of her most enduring motifs, returning in later silk editions and inspiring adaptations across other Hermès accessories.
Story about the Design:
Astrologie is the official Hermès title, while Dies et Hore is the wording found within the original scarf design. Its celestial composition combines lunar phases, zodiac figures, Roman numerals and calendar-like divisions. Astrologie 2 adapts this visual language into a continuous horizontal frieze, giving the bangle a rhythmic sequence of moon faces and astrological symbols in sepia and cream.
Collector's Notes:
The 65 mm inner diameter and 17 mm width give this rigid, clasp-free bangle a substantial but wearable profile. The Made in Austria mark, (+M) token, palladium-plated silver-tone rims and sepia palette are useful identifying details. Because the M has no visible enclosing shape, the circa 2009 date is an inference supported by the square-era letter sequence and a documented Astrologie bracelet from the 2009 collection rather than an absolute date.
Craftsmanship Note:
This rigid bracelet combines printed enamel on a metal core with polished palladium-plated rims and a smooth interior for slip-on wear. To help preserve the enamel and plated finish, avoid impact, abrasion, perfume, cosmetics and moisture, and store the bracelet separately in a soft pouch.
