Story about the Design: Fantaisie d'Étriers is a joyful, graphic take on equestrian hardware. Six stylised stirrups and their leathers—drawn in simplified, stencil-like forms—interlace into a striking composition of curves, loops, braids and twists. The motifs are inspired by illustrated catalogues from the Emile Hermès Collection, reimagined here as the folkloric wardrobe of a whimsically elegant rider. In this “orange / blanc / beige” colourway, warm saddle tones and crisp white emphasise the design’s luminous, jewel-like effect.
Artist's Story: A longtime Hermès collaborator, Virginie Jamin is known for translating the House’s equestrian heritage into fresh, modern graphics across silk, home and tableware. Her work often draws on archival research in the Emile Hermès Collection, balancing abstraction and figuration. Beyond silk, she co-created the 2024 “Tressages Équestres” porcelain line, extending her rope-and-tack vocabulary into enamel and porcelain.
