Artist's Story:
French illustrator and longtime Hermès collaborator, Virginie Jamin has created dozens of carrés and accessories for the house since the mid-2000s. Her work often draws directly from the Émile Hermès collection and classic equestrian codes, translating archival objects—whips, canes, harness pieces—into crisp, graphic compositions across silk, enamel, and porcelain. She has also extended her linework into tableware such as “Tressages Équestres,” reflecting a consistent, hand-drawn aesthetic rooted in Hermès heritage.

Story about the Design:
“Colliers de Chiens” arranges an elegant taxonomy of dog collars—buckles, plaques, and leather straps—into a rhythmic grid, echoing Hermès’ historic leatherwork for canines and its famed Collier de Chien jewelry line. First issued on silk in 2013, the composition has been reworked several times: in 2020–2021 as “Colliers et Chiens,” adding character portraits around the border, and more recently adapted to formats like Imprimeur Fou rectangles and Twillys. The motif translates especially well to enamel, where the metal rim frames the linear artwork like a miniature plaque.
