Artist's Story:
Athens-born artist Julie Abadie, also credited as Julia Abadie, studied applied arts in Paris and continued her artistic training at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Her long association with Hermès began in 1969, and her portfolio for the Maison includes richly composed equestrian, historical, maritime, and decorative designs admired by scarf collectors. Her authorship of Clic Clac à Pois is corroborated by established scarf archives, auction records, and Sotheby’s.

Story about the Design:
Clic Clac à Pois revisits an earlier equestrian composition through a playful field of polka dots. The design arranges horse blinkers and leather-covered riding whips accented by finely detailed rings and pommels, connecting the pattern to Hermès’ saddlery heritage. Its rhythmic title evokes the light jingle of harness fittings and the measured beat of horses’ hooves, balancing precise equestrian imagery with a lively modern character.
